For summer memberships, students must be enrolled for at least five credit hours on the Kent Campus to receive automatic access to the SRWC. Those credits hours can be spread out across all three summer sessions, but must be at least five credits total. Students not taking classes over the summer must pay the non-assessed fee of $90. Students taking less than five credit hours over the summer must pay the student fee of $70.

Assessed Students: Assessed students have had university activity fees allocated from their tuition, granting them access to the SRWC. Individuals in this category include: Kent Campus students taking five credits or more, Dissertation I students and Thesis I students taking five credits or more.


Students Taking Less Than 5 Credits (Kent Campus): Students taking less than five credits on the Kent Campus are not automatically members of the SRWC. These students are eligible to purchase memberships at the student rate for themselves and immediate family members (student's spouse and dependents). Individuals in this category include: Kent Campus students taking less than five credits, Part-time Kent State Faculty/Staff taking less than five credits, Dissertation II students and Thesis II students taking less than seven credits.


Non-assessed Students: Non-assessed students do not have activity fees included in their tuition and are not automatically members of the SRWC. These students are eligible to purchase memberships at the student non-assessed rate for themselves and immediate family members (student's spouse and dependents). Individuals in this category include: Regional campus students, NEOUCOM students and continuing students.

(Continuing students are students who are not currently registered for classes. To qualify for this rate, a student must have completed classes the semester immediately prior to the current one, or, for summer only, be registered for fall classes.)


Spouse/Adult 18+ Dependent: This membership is valid for married couples and domestic partnerships. A marriage certificate may be required if your spouse does not have the same last name. Please read our domestic partnership policy for details on how to file a claim.


Family: A family membership is designed for a spouse (defined above) and two or more children. Couples with one child should purchase a Spouse membership and add a dependent (defined below). Children two and under are free.


Dependent: Any SRWC member may purchase a dependent membership for his or her child/children age 3 - 17. The parent or legal guardian must have a membership of equal or longer duration. Children two and under are free.


Non Kent State University Student (Summer/Winter): These students are eligible to purchase memberships at the given rate provided they show a valid college ID at the time of purchase.
 

The SRWC closes once a year for our annual maintenance shutdown. Maximum duration for this shutdown in 14 days.

The SRWC closes for the following holidays: New Year's Day; Independence Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day.

The SRWC has adjusted hours of operation during the following: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; Easter; Spring Break; Memorial Day; Labor Day; Veteran's Day; and Winter Break.


Patrons who need to purchase a membership for themselves or a family member may pay in full using cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
