All aquatics certifications are taught by American Red Cross-certified instructors. Please note that participation in a certification class does not guarantee certification. All skills related to the certification must be properly demonstrated (as defined by course outline) in order to receive certification.


Babysitter’s Training Certification (142007)
This course provides individuals, ages 11 to 15, with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in leadership and professionalism, basic care, safety and first aid.

FA/CPR/AED Certification (142004)
This course trains lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adult, children and infants. This course also provides the lay responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives. These courses are set up as an alternate opportunity for groups to be certified in the following areas of safety: first aid, CPR (adult, infant, and child), or automated external defibrillation (AED). Courses are generally held at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Course schedules are dependent on the group needs and the facility space availability.
