Most Kent State students are members of the SRWC automatically by virtue of student activity fees. If you are taking 5 credit hours or more on the Kent Campus, you most likely have paid activity fees and will have full access to the facility. Some special situations apply for Graduate, Thesis and Dissertation students. Inquire at the Pro Shop or see the categories below for more information.

For summer memberships, students must be enrolled for at least five credit hours on the Kent campus to receive automatic access to the SRWC.  Those credits hours can be spread out across all three summer sessions, but must be at least five credits total. Kent students not taking classes over the summer must pay the non-assessed fee of $90.  Kent students taking less than five credit hours may purchase a summer membership pass for $70.

Those who are not automatically members may choose to pay the student fee to become a member. See below for explanations of each category, or call us if you need help at 330.672.4REC.

AA - Automatically Assessed
NA - Not Available

Dependent: Legal dependent of a university student, under age 18. This membership must be purchased with an accompanying adult membership for the same duration. Youth under 18 are not permitted in the facility without an adult member. Children 2 and under are free.

Kent Campus 1-4 credits: This category applies to Kent Campus students who pay general tuition and fees to Kent Main Campus for eligible credits. Thesis II students registered for less than 7 credits must purchase a non-assessed membership. Dissertation II students must purchase memberships at the less than five rate (fall/spring) or student non-assessed rate (summer).

Non-assessed: Non-assessed students have not paid any fee for facility access as part of their tuition. These include Kent regional campus students, NEOUCOM students and continuing students. See explanation of continuing, below.

Continuing: Continuing students are students who are not currently registered for classes. To qualify for this rate, a student must have completed classes the semester immediately prior to the current one, or, for summer only, be registered for fall classes.

Non-prime memberships are available to everyone and allow members facility access from 6 a.m. - 3:30 Monday through Friday and all open hours on weekends.

Access to the facility is permitted through any of the above membership categories, or by purchasing a punch pass for access. Punch passes are valid for one year from date of purchase. Discounted guest 10-punch passes are available for members only. Please ask at the Pro Shop for details.
