The Allerton Sports Complex is one of the finest of its kind in Northeastern Ohio. The complex is centrally located  between Canton, Youngstown, Akron & Cleveland, with several hotels and restaurants within a few miles. With a great location, on-site concessions, lighted scoreboards, and four newly renovated & lighted fields, it is no wonder that the Department of Recreational Services will host several nationally recognized tournaments at Allerton.

Deposits

Due at the time the contracts are signed. Arrangements may be made for payment, with prior approval from the Department of Recreational Services. Deposits will be applied to the balance due to The Department of Recreational Services unless the event is cancelled, see cancellation policy for refunds.

Cancellation policy

Deposits will only be refunded if 3 days notice is given prior to the start of the event. Decisions to make refunds after this date will be at the sole discretion of The Department of Recreational Services. NO Deposits will be refunded for league rentals.

Fees

All fees are due within 30 days of the conclusion of the tournament and/or event, unless prior arrangements are made with The Department of Recreational Services.

Lighting Fee

The lighting fee will be charged on a per field per hour basis. Partial hours will be billed at a rate of $0.25 per minute per field.

Maintenance Fee

The maintenance fee includes a cleanup fee for use of the facility. This fee is non-refundable and due at the time the deposit is paid.

Vendor Fee

The Department of Recreational Services requires vendors or tournament representatives that have items that are to be sold on University Property have a license to sell such items.
• Tournament/League Directors who wish to sell t-shirts for their tournament/league may do so by paying a $10 licensing fee.
• Tournament Directors/Representatives who allow businesses to sell items other than tournament related t-shirts on University Property must pay a $35 per day fee for rights to sell such items.
• Tables and chairs that belong to the University may be rented in support of such operations. Rental rates for such items are:
    1. Chairs (foldable) $5 each per day
    2. Tables (foldable) $10 each per day
    3. Tents (foldable) $25 each per day
Items that are rented must be returned 30 minutes prior to the closing of the concession stand. Items must be returned in the same condition as when issued, otherwise damage fees may be applied.
• The Department of Recreational Services reserves the right to refuse to allow vendors and/or Tournament Directors to sell items on University Property.
• Alcoholic Beverages may not be sold, possessed or consumed on Kent State University Property.

Field Maintenance Fees

Tournament Directors who wish to have a field maintenance person readily available to rake & reline batter’s boxes and rake the pitcher’s mound throughout the tournament can request this service at a rate of $10.00 per hour per person.

Unusual Wear & Property Damage Fees

Tournament Directors are ultimately responsible for the actions of all persons associated with the tournament. The Department of Recreational Services reserves the right to charge or pursue legal action against the Tournament Director and/or persons responsible for unusual wear and damage to Kent State University Property.

Gate Receipts

Tournament Directors may charge a spectator or admission fee to the tournament, without payment of fees to the Department of Recreational Services. Limitations include employees of the Department of Recreational Services shall not be charged admission to the Allerton Sports Complex.
• The Tournament Director must ensure that the gate does not interfere with the pathway of emergency vehicles.
• The Tournament Director must charge a reasonable rate for admission.
• The Tournament Director is responsible for maintaining the gate area. Department of Recreational Services Employees shall not assume any responsibility for this area.

Drying Agent

All rentals will include 4 bags of drying agent per day. This drying agent would be utilized above and beyond what it has taken us to prepare the fields for play for each day. After the additional 5 bags have been utilized, the Tournament Director will have the opportunity to be charged $10 per bag for any additional bags.
