
Student
Groundskeeper
Duties include: preparation of fields at
Allerton Sports Complex and other campus
outdoor recreation facilities such as soccer
fields, lacrosse, sand volleyball, rugby,
etc. for leagues, tournaments and
intramurals; cleaning of the same facilities
pre and post event; and the use and
maintenance of groundskeeping equipment.
Hours vary, but mainly include evenings and
weekends. Applicants must be available to
work early morning weekends, weekdays and
various hours throughout the week and must
be able to lift 60 - 80lbs. We expect
applicants to have a good attitude when it
comes to rainy weather, experience or
knowledge of recreational sports and be
self-motivated, capable of working
unsupervised at times.

Lifeguards
The lifeguard's main responsibility is
insuring the health and safety of the SRWC
members using the pools. This includes
appropriate and efficient emergency response
when needed. The lifeguard will also enforce
the pool rules in an appropriate, fair and
equitable manner; when appropriate, explain
the rationale for the rule(s).

Water Safety
Instructors
The Water Safety Instructor (WSI)’s main
responsibility is to insure the safe,
appropriate instruction of the participants
in the programs. The WSI will effectively
manage all incidents involving the assigned
swimming/water safety classes as well as do
all necessary planning and paperwork
inherent to the position.

Intramural Sports
Officials
Experience is not necessary to be an
intramural official, but some knowledge of
sports is beneficial. Attend all mandatory
training sessions and clinics. While working
the sports official should possess a
professional/ethical attitude. Assist in
setting up and taking down all equipment
necessary for the particular sport being
offered. Assist the supervisor in
determining a safe playing conditions.
Enforce Intramural Sports Policies as
indicated in the Intramural Sports Handbook.
Good communication skills, and ability to
work in a team environment or autonomously.
