Le Tour de Erie Trip (110100-A2)
Venture to Lake Erie from the SRWC on a century ride (100 miles). The group will make stops along the way including lunch and the visitor center in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, but the food costs are the responsibility of the participant. Trip fees include high-energy snacks, trip leaders and SAG wagon.

Buckeye Trail Hiking Trip Series (111000)
Join us as we hike through three different sections of the 1,444 mile Buckeye Trail. Come see the wooded trails and impressive Michael J. Kirwan Reservoir at West Branch State Park in September, the beautiful foliage at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in October, and the vast array of wildlife at Quail Hollow State Park in November. Attendance at all three hikes is not required.

Our trained staff will take participants on an overnight excursion to West Branch State Park, where we will enjoy a fun weekend of kayaking and camping. Other topics, such as the Leave No Trace philosophy, hypothermia and other outdoor-related issues will be informally discussed.

Allegheny Backpacking Trip (112000-A1)
Want to get away from Ohio for a while? Come with us to Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania for a two-day backpacking excursion. The trail head begins at the Heart’s Content Recreation Center and follows an 11-mile loop through the forest.

Join us as we explore the KSU Kent campus using a GPS unit to find hidden treasures through this program intended for participants of all abilities. We will look for caches with accessible terrain.

Spend a day with our experienced staff mountain biking around beautiful West Branch State Park. You must provide your own mountain bike and helmet. Equipment for the trip can be rented from our Outdoor Rental Center on a first come, first serve basis. See page 9 for rental details.

Interested in a backpacking excursion close to home? The Adventure Center is teaming up with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association to offer a special backpacking trip deep into the back-country of the park. This overnight event will cover topics such as proper packing, navigation and wilderness safety.

Brady’s Leap Adventure Race (116000)
Put your outdoor skills to the test with our first ever adventure race! This four hour race, perfect for beginners, includes mountain biking, paddling, orienteering, challenge course elements and a few more surprises. The race will feature local parks, lakes and trails. Racers must secure all required equipment, including a canoe or kayak, mountain bike, compass, etc. Equipment for the race can be rented from our Outdoor Rental Center on a first come, first serve basis. See page 9 for rental details. Cost includes course officials, T-shirt and refreshments. Use of a GPS unit is permitted and recommended.

We will work with you and your group to create a custom adventure experience. We have created programs for both children and adults with groups from universities, local schools, churches, non-profit organizations and corporations. Whether your aim is to achieve group goals, build skills or just have fun, our staff will strive to meet your wants and needs. Our beautiful Recreation Center offers catering services and meeting rooms with state-of-the-art amenities to help accommodate your group.


Have you always wanted to learn an outdoor skill but prefer a private setting? Take advantage of our private instruction program. We can work with you one on one or in small private groups to help you learn that new skill. Our instructors will work with you and create a pace that allows you to progress to that next level.


A mountain of fun awaits you at our towering Indoor Climbing Wall. Participants of all ages and abilities can climb anytime of the year on a surface that looks and feels like real rock. Our Clinics prepare climbers who wish to gain the necessary skills to climb the wall or are looking for a review.
